cockpit
the cockpit of the delta flyer has more viewscreens and windows set into its hull than its predecessor, giving the shuttle a spacious feel
The design brief of the Delta Flyer is to produce a ship that is faster and better armed than a Class-2 shuttle for missions in the Delta Quadrant. The shuttle is constructed to accommodatea crew of upto five command personel, with room for further personel in the hold.
The cockpit is entered through two main hatches, one set into the port side of the hull - which exits to the mooring gallery within the U.S.S. Voyager - and another via the starboard door connecting to the Delta Flyer's other room. The cockpit can be split into three main areas of control; in the wedge shaped bow is the pilot's station and command chair, within a smaller control area to the left, the mid-section contains a raised booth with various control stations to port and starboard, and a stepped rear section houses the engineering systems.

CUSTOM CONTROL PANEL
The Delta Flyer is equipped with fully functional 20th century style control panels; these are not the 'useless design elements' Lt Commander Tuvok suspects them to be.- SECONDARY
COMMAND
- PILOT'S
SEAT
The pilot's station takes centre stage in the cockpit. It's chair possesses flashing headset lights, and is the foremost position to the viewscreen. - SENSOR
