The captain's quarters on the Enterprise-D provide privacy and a respite from the day to day activities of a busy starship.

On Galaxy class starships, the captain's quarters are located on deck 8. The quarters compise of an open plan suite of rooms which are primarily the captain's private living space, although they can also be used to entertain guests and can double an office. Located at the very front of the saucer section, the large windows provide a dramatic view over space

Captain's Privilege

As might be expected, the captain's quarters are larger than those of any other crew member. But the furnishings are not noticeably more luxurious, and follow utilitarian designs found anywhere else on the ship. As with all quarters, the captain is free to make personal modifications so that rooms feel more like home.

All at hand

Deck 8 holds many other important areas of the ship, including the Battle Bridge and stellar cartography. Turbolift stops within only seconds of the captain's quarters carry him to stratigic areas of the ship including the Main Bridge, where his work usually begins.
