Sickbay aboard the Enterprise act as an onboard hospital. With the development of deep space exploration by Humans, Starfleet has encouraged the initiation of several medical exchange programmes in order for all to benefit from their respective experiences. Doctor Phlox was one of these voulunteers, in the Vulcan interspecies exchange. This Denobulan became the first doctor onboard the warp 5 starship in 2151.

The main room includes the most up to date medical devices and can face all kind of possible medical situations. A medical bed is placed at the center of the room and he also used for scan analysis. 3 other beds can be monitored and are positioned around the room. Screen on the walls display patient files as well as life signs parameters and various scan results.

Doctor Phlox, assigned onboard for his alien experience of medicine, has the use of a laboratory where he keeps exotic plants and animals for medical use. Its advised not approach the cages, one can never know what strange, and not necessary friendly, host one can find in there. The Doctor sometimes performs most exotic medicine, and has at his disposal every tool and device modern biologic and genetic research has to offer in order to fight any possible epidemies and infections.
