The Sickbay, as maintained by Dr. Phlox, contains several stations used to develop, research and synthesize medicines, both organic and chemical.

This area also contains an imaging chamber that is able to scan a body and give a full diagnostic of the patient's condition. The doctor can then determine the level of treatment required. The imaging scanner helps reduce the need for invasive surgical procedures.
