Plan:
mess hall
the mess hall is used by the crew as a place to gather in an informal atmosphere
The mess hall of the U.S.S. Voyager is more than just a communal eating area. It serves as a space where the entire crew can gather and embrace the closeness that has developed between them over their epic journey.
The mess hall on Voyager is a focal point for crew intercaction. It is situated on Deck , section 13 and is tended by the ships resident guide and cook, Neelix. The layout of the mess hall is similar to that found on most Federation starships, but the nature of Voyager's solo journey throught the Delta Quadrant has led to more flexibility than would normally be required of such a space; in addition to a dining room, it is often called upon to act as a breifing room for the entire crew, an area in which to host official functions and a party area for crew members or other celebrations. The crew often use the room as an area which to relax, playing games such as the Vulcan kal'toh. In extreme circumstances the mess hall has doubled as a secondary sickbay.
